Xeriscaping With Native Plants In The High Desert?
I am looking for names, phone numbers and / or links to the greenhouses, the drought-tolerant plants native to the deserts of northern New Mexico. I would like to plant bulbs and things are now beginning in the spring.
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center has an EXCELLENT online database of plants for every state in the U.S., as well as all the Canadian provinces. If you need information on a specific plant, you can also call them (they’re in Austin, Texas). They’re very nice folks

Contact your county Master Gardener program; they have handouts that they can mail you; and they can give you advice that they personally are familiar with. Attached is a link to the New Mexico Master Gardener links. http://cahedev.nmsu.edu/mastergardener/p…
Also New Mexico native plant society http://npsnm.unm.edu/ and here’s a site with high country perennials http://www.highcountrygardens.com/catalo…

Try a search on native NM wildflowers. mariposa lilly grows in the High Country in WY Rockies, sage (medicinal, pot herb, dries beautifully), bistort…
